Street Art Racing European GT4 Am Champions

Monday, October 10, 2016

Congratulations to the Street Art Racing team who yesterday secured (subject to official confirmation) the European GT4 Am driver Championship with their driver Jerome Demay at the series finale at Zandvoort.

With the Aston Martin V8 Vantage 14.5 points behind the then Am Championship leading #22 Porsche Clubsport car of Jan Kasperlik heading into the final race meeting of the season, a good result in Race 1 for the #007 duo overhauled that deficit would force Kasperlik to chase and pass the Aston in the second and final race.

However, his challenge was very short lived as he was involved in an unfortunate race ending crash with another Porsche just as the grid passed over the start line to commence their first flying lap.

The #007 would eventually finish the race P18 overall and P7 in class after a late spin for Demay. Co driver Damian Dupont misses out by virtue of not scoring the same number of points as Demay having missed part of the season.

Early reports suggest that the team will return to the European GT4 championship next year with two Aston Martin RacingV8 Vantage GT4's.
