Generation AMR SuperRacing prove their worth in Abu Dhabi Quali

Friday, December 16, 2016

The three driver line up of Matt George, James Holder and Chris Murphy left their best efforts till last today after a great build up to the two part Gulf 12Hours event that starts tomorrow.

As a matter of information, we understand that the #44 car was listed as a four driver entry on the official paperwork but we now understand from the team that that deal fell through at the last minute.

Starting their first ever visit to the Yas Marina circuit the #44 car held their heads high in the GTX (GT4) class finishing the first two Free Practice sessions third in class. They even went some better in the third session finishing top of their list.

However, with no obvious prizes for high finishes in Free Practice all would come down to the multiple driver qualifying format earlier today where each of their three drivers would have 15 minutes on track to do their best - and that they did.

Matt George was first out and he finished in Provisional first nearly five seconds ahead of his nearest rival and two seconds faster than his PB to date. With Holder and then Murphy then having their turns the cumulative effect was that the #44 qualified for tomorrows race in P2!!!

Great job guys!
