Disaster for Solaris AMR at Paul Ricard

Saturday, March 04, 2017

With full details still a little sketchy as the the reasons why, a sizeable crash for Francesco Sini this morning has all but destroyed their Aston Martin Racing V12 Vantage during the second day of winter testing for the International GT Open series in Paul Ricard today.

The team have confirmed that Sini was driving at the time and has been checked over by the circuit's medical centre staff before being allowed to return to his team in the paddock. It is believed that Aqua-planning was probably the cause although the team will be checking the telemetry to confirm.

This is a real disaster for the Italian team as they were progressing nicely up the timing board up until that point.

Let's just hope both Aston Martin Racing and Prodrive can help get the team back on track as soon as possible as you would fear that the teams chassis #30 and engine will be written off.
