Aston Martin GT8 and GT4 to test the Nordschleife this weekend

A modest one hundred or so cars will line up for this weekends ADAC 24H Qualification Race at the Nordschleife all in preparation for next months main event.

For this event we shall see the return of two familiar cars to the infamous Nordschleife, along with some very familiar names aboard them.

Last seen out racing at another famous mountain venue (in Australia) this event sees the return of the #007 Aston Martin Lagonda's Vantage GT8 with a driver line of Darren Turner, Nicki Thiim, Peter Cate and Florian Kamelger.


Joining them in their own SP10 (GT4 spec) entry will be the Swiss based R Motorsport crew of Andreas Baenziger, Markus Lungstraas and Peter Leemhuis (with an additional appearance from team partner Florian Kamelger as well).

We all saw the tweeted image from Darren Turner the other week shaking down the GT8 at Silverstone prior to the Britcar Endurance opener and its obvious that the R Motorsport GT4 has now been repaired since Jan Struve's big impact at the Bathurst 12Hour at the beginning of the year.


Saturday will see the first Free Practice session before ending with the first Qualifying session before moving on to Sunday's second Qualifying session before the start of the 6 hour race at midday (local).
