Mistiming issue costs TF Sport grid places in SuperPole shootout

Friday, July 28, 2017

A mistiming issue for the #97 TF Sport prepared Oman Racing Team entry appears to have cost themselves their fifth place finish during this evenings Spa 24 Super Pole shoot out for the top twenty cars from Qualifying.

With Jonny Adam having posted a best lap time of 2:17:674 during his three hot laps at the close of the session it was confirmed that the car was already under investigation by the stewards for having missed their allotted time slot going into the thirty minute session.

As a result, the series have confirmed the removal of the best time entered by the #97 Vantage GT3 dropping the Pro Am entry back to P7 for the start of the 24 hour on Saturday afternoon. That remains the highest placed Pro Am entry at this years event.

Reasons for this error have not been explained.
