All to play for in ELMS as TF Sport travels to Paul Ricard

Wednesday, August 23, 2017

TF Sport head to Circuit Paul Ricard this week (25-27 August, 2017) for the fourth round of the European Le Mans Series. With a first, second and third positions in the last three races, the British-based team lead the LMGTE championship with 59 points, six clear of nearest rival JMW Motorsport.

Last time out in Austria, TF Sport secured third place after a fantastic battle for position with Nicki Thiim fending off those behind to take the final step on the podium by 0.3s; a result that very much felt like a race win for the team.

Thiim is again joined by regular teammates Salih Yoluc and Euan Hankey for the 4 Heures du Castellet and the team are confident that the circuit should be better suited to their package.

TF Sport Director Tom Ferrier

“We’re in a tight battle for the championship. We’re at the half-way point with three races remaining, so we need to make sure that first we finish, and secondly, we maximise the points in every round. The race at the Red Bull Ring was difficult for us, but we held on to score 15 points which was important. We’d like to think we can do a little better at Paul Ricard, but it’s always hard to predict. As ever, we prepare as best as we can and we’ll see what the weekend brings.”

Salih Yoluc

“The aim is to extend our championship lead by winning in Paul Ricard, because this is a track the Vantage should be good at due to the characteristics of the track. I'm really hoping we will get some fair BoP (Balance of Performance) break from the organisers to have a better chance. I personally quite enjoy that track and always got good results there in tough races. I’ve not had a win there and that’s something I hope to get sorted this time!”

Euan Hankey

“I’m very much looking forward to Paul Ricard. The track has well-suited both myself and Salih in the past and the same goes for the Aston Martin. I think our BoP might not still be the best but we will - as ever - fight hard for every point possible!”
