New AMR Vantage GTE spied testing

Monday, September 11, 2017

News, and indeed video footage has emerged this evening of Aston Martin Racing's new for 2018 V8 Vantage GTE undergoing testing at the Rockingham circuit last week.

We know that AMR work's driver Darren Turner posted words to that effect on his social media stream prior to last weekends Goodwood Revival, so we can at least assume that he was there.

With the information flow coming out of both AMR and AML slowly building over recent weeks, we can only assume that the official launch for both the road going and racing variant is not far away together with the fact that this 'exclusively sourced video' is simply another piece of factory generated PR in preparation to the launch date just like the shots of the road car variant (above) were beforehand.

Only last week did we speak to someone who had just had a viewing of the new car in the Prodrive factory, hearing that it had also undergone a series of straight-line tests at one of the aerodromes AMR commonly use for shakedowns, etc with further testing also booked in for next week.

Anyway, the new GTE looks awesome in its lime and black camo livery and the 'music' of the new turbo charged engine isn't actually all that bad. Overall, we don't think we will be disappointed with what is eventually revealed!
