Three AMR GT4's to see out European GT4 Northern Cup finale

Wednesday, September 13, 2017

This weekend sees the final round of the European GT4 Series Northern Cup from the Nurburgring in Germany after five highly eventful rounds in its new form since the SRO and FFSA split the existing series entry into the Northern and Southern Cup's at the end of last year.

Full season entries from both the Academy Motorsport and Street Art Racing teams again figure in the provisional entry list but they will be joined this weekend by the #144 Generation AMR SuperRacing AMR Vantage car from the Southern Cup Series.

With both full season entries having what could only be described as a 'character building' season it is somewhat surprising to see that despite all of that the Academy crew of Matt Nichol-Jones and Will Moore remain P3 in the Silver Cup standings and P4 overall in the Team Championship despite their series of non finishes due to accident or technical failure albeit some way behind each of the championship leaders.

Belgium team Street Art Racing sit not too many places behind the British squad although they have had a number of driver changes through the season that has effected their results somewhat. Both teams go to show that the Prodrive built V8 Vantage remains a racing force to be reckoned with despite its age to some of the other platforms on offer.

Generation AMR come straight from the re-commencement of the Southern Cup Series last week after their summer break so they still have two rounds left of that championship over the coming months and practice is everything.

The Saturday's and Sunday's races are both streamed live via the championship’s official website and YouTube channel, as well as SRO Motorsports Group’s GT World YouTube channel.
