Gunn having a ball in Middle China

Wednesday, October 04, 2017

Called up for duty again by the Prodrive factory, Beechdean AMR's Ross Gunn has been in fine form again so far this week at his second visit to the China GT series at its penultimate round in Chengdu.

Again supporting the China Equity Team in the #618 car that he shares with co driver Yang Mengqiao, it didn't take long for Gunn to set his sights to claim the GT4 pole position for the first race - albeit demoted to the rear of the grid for Mengqiao causing an avoidable accident last time out in Shanghai.

None the less, the car's gentleman driver soon quickly passed everyone up to P3 in the first half lap of yesterdays race before he handed the car over to Gunn to exit the pits maintaining a very healthy race lead. Despite a safety car to recover a beached car nobody could overcomes Gunn's superior track position as he took his first China GT podium.

The #618's sister AMR Vantage GT4 finished P4 whilst the customer ZIA FEA Vantages finished P6 and DNF. Over in GT4 Challenge this result converted into a clean sweep for China Equity Racing taking the top two steps.
