Training Camp done - next stop WEC!

Saturday, March 24, 2018

Some would have seen it as a week of abject torture whilst others would have seen it as a job well done as nine of the ten drivers who will race under the Aston Martin Racing banner completed their winter training camp down in the Dordogne region of south west France last week.

Basing themselves within the 150 acre Chateau Du Peuch estate at the Col du Peuch training facility drivers Darren Turner, Marco Sorensen, Nicki Thiim, Jonny Adam, Alex Lynn, Maxime Martin, Pedro Lamy, Mathias Lauda and Ross Gunn all spent the week cycling, running and indeed swimming through the picturesque French countryside preparing both mind and body for the start of the 2018-2019 World Endurance Championship Super-season that starts at the Prologue at Paul Ricard in just two weeks time.

With a week of intensive training culminating in their own mini team triathlon event saw the #97 crew of Lynn, Adam and Martin secure their first consignment of 'silverware' and indeed bragging rights of the year over the #95 and #98 crew respectively.

With the exception of both Lamy and Lauda (who have already seen significant track action this year already at Bathurst, Daytona and most recently Sebring), this weekend coming sees everyone else bar Gunn hit the tracks for their first race of the year at the opening round of the British GT Championship from Oulton Park, Cheshire. Weekend after - The Prologue!

By some of their social media posts - the camp was tough!
