China GT returns with China Equity AMR in the hunt

Wednesday, September 05, 2018

China GT returns to the tracks after its summer break with races seven and eight from the Shanghai International Circuit.

China Equity AMR will return with their (expected) two Prodrive supported Aston Martin Racing V8 Vantage GT4's with Jack Mitchell again behind the wheel of the #618 car with Am co-driver Ryan Liu.

Having experienced something of a 'hiccup' back in June when power steering issues affected what was expected to be another double podium finish, Mitchell and Liu find themselves in second position in the GT4 Pro-Am Championship coming back from the summer break just two points behind their series nemesis David McKintyre in his McLaren 570S with another Brit (David Ashton) just another seventeen points behind them in his Radical.

With two more rounds to go (4 races) after Shanghai and in what is very much now their wet season, now would not be the time for any race affecting errors that could have championship implications for the AMR Partner team.

The races now being streamed live via the Facebook pages of the China GT Championship (@ChinaGTChampionship) - all the action can be seen of Saturdays and Sundays races which start at 10:40am and 11:00am (local) respectively.

And if this wasn't enough for Mitchell, he will of course return to the UK next week with another GT4 Championship to resolve (albeit in a BMW) in the British GT Championship at their finale at Donington.
