Friday, March 08, 2019

After over a week of 'chomping at the bit' to confirm the news, its good to see that 17 year old Tom Wood has today finally confirmed his progression in GT racing from the British GT Championship through to competing in the sister SRO series - the GT4 European Series for the 2019 season.

Having competed with Matt Nichol-Jones' Academy Motorsport team last year with co-driver Jan Jonck in the British GT Championship aboard one of their two 2016 specification Aston Martin Racing V8 Vantage GT4, todays news see him competing in one of the teams new 2019 specification V8 turbo Vantage GT4 with the owner of Walero race products Fiona James.

James will be the more experienced of the two this year having raced in the series under the watchful guidance of Nichol-Jones and who was the person who was first to drive their latest acquisition from the AMR factory just the other week at a shakedown test at Silverstone.

The duo shall compete in the two race per event format in the Pro-Am Class which begins at Monza in mid April.
