Definitely room for one more AMR at Silverstone 500

Like most of us, Andrew Howard’s plans for 2020 took a battering just after the Championship’s Media Day in March when their initial dual Pro-Am and Silver Cup GT3 programme in British GT unfortunately fell through leaving us with just a single appearance so far for his Beechdean Ice Cream liveried AMR Vantage GT3 that he shared then with Jonny Adam at Brands Hatch back in August.
After his then revised plans for a further entry at the Snetterton round in early October also fell through, the best we could get out of Howard for anything at Silverstone was a “possibly”.
Its great to see that that possibility has indeed turned into reality as he joins up with another Le Mans 24hr Champion this time as Charlie Eastwood joins him aboard the #7 which now becomes part of a four AMR Vantage GT3 car effort on track for Sunday’s three-hour finale as well as the three AMR Vantage GT4’s as previously listed.
These additional entries swell the grid to thirty-eight cars as all classes, including the GTC Class has seen last minute interest to see out this most bizarre of seasons.
It should be a great one to watch!
