One not two podium finishes for PROsport Racing at penultimate round of ADAC GT4 Germany

This weekend’s penultimate round of the ADAC GT4 Germany Series from the Lausitzring on the eastern border with Poland was certainly something of a damp and dark affair for the one off entry from PROsport Racing and their Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT4 entry for drivers Tim Heinemann and Moritz Oestreich.

Already experienced within TCR and GT4 class of cars from the Nordschleife Langstrecken Serie, esports and most recently the new DTM Trophy, this was just a ‘toe in the water’ affair for the two youngsters in Christoph Esser's team.

Featuring two – one hour races over Saturday and Sunday, it was first thought to be a lights to flag victory for the #18 car on Saturday but a post-race appeal later verified that Heinemann had indeed passed the Nicola Moller-Madson’s Porsche for position whilst the circuit was still under yellow for which they were to be dropped to P6 after a 30 second post-race penalty.

Sunday’s race went a little better for the pair – although not for the race itself as a three car collision on the opening lap lead for a near thirty minute red flag period whilst the debris field was cleared. The following Safety Car restart was then followed by another and another and another – until finally a red flag was declared with six minutes still on the clock. All in all, less than ten minutes of competitive racing was achieved.

In between all of that, the #18 car was able to progress from P13 to P3 by the end of the race.
