Garage 59 confirm multi-car programme in 2021 GT World Challenge Europe

Thursday, March 25, 2021

As the first of a two-day official test got underway at the Paul Ricard circuit in the south of France today, the GT World Challenge Europe Series also confirmed their full season entry lists for both the Sprint and Endurance rounds that start as early as next month.

The UK based Garage 59 Aston Martin Racing team will again be the sole AMR representation within the European Series but this year they branch out to run parallel race programmes in both the Endurance and Sprint Series as each run on separate race weekends to one another.

With just a single AMR Vantage GT3 taking part within this week’s two-day test in France with drivers Chris Goodwin, Valentin Hasse-Clot and newcomer Nicolai Kjaergaard, todays entry lists confirm a single Pro-Am and Silver Cup entry in both series for drivers still yet to be confirmed.

As the Endurance Series season start at Monza in just three week’s time, and with the team heavily in the midst of a robust pre-season testing regime, we would expect the three names per car to be confirmed pretty soon. With the Sprint Series however, they still have a few more weeks to test and decide ahead of that season opener at Magney-Cours, France at the start of May.

Its again sad not to see the R-Motorsport name feature within this Series after seeing them step back at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic at this stage of the proceedings last season. Hopefully, it will not be too long before we see the Swiss based team back in mainstream GT racing.
