GT Open Cup double podium for PROsport Racing in France

Monday, May 17, 2021

The best racing performance of the weekend this time goes to the PROsport Racing team after their double podium finish at the opening round of the GT Open Cup Series from the Paul Ricard Circuit in southern France.

No strangers to securing podiums in other series and again racing their easily identifiable Aston Martin Racing V8 Vantage GT4, drivers Rodrique Gillion and his professional driver coach Nico Verdonck delivered an overall third – second in their Pro-Am Class after the fifty minute, GT4 only race of Saturday before going some better again on Sunday.

Having had Verdonck already secure class pole position ahead of that sixty-minute race, that Belgian racer handed the #191 car over to his fellow Belgian whilst in second place overall in the mixed GT Open and GT Open Cup race only for gentleman driver, Gillion drive another personal best to secure an overall second place finish in GT4 and his first GT4 Pro-Am win in the series.

These results place the #191 crew third in the GT Open Cup table as the series heads to Spa Francorchamps in a month’s time but before then, the team will be at Hockenheim next weekend for the fourth round of the 24H Series.
