TF Sport again claim pole in FIA WEC GTE Am - this time at Monza

Saturday, July 17, 2021

Catching up with the events today from Monza and the third round of the World Endurance Championship today saw the #33 TF Sport Aston Martin Racing Vantage GTE continue the class pole setting trait starting at Lime Rock Park last night by the Heart of Racing and Notlad Racing teams as Ben Keating secured pole in the GTE Am class.

Having enjoyed some GT3 experience of the circuit last week in the Michelin Le Mans Cup, Keating and his co-drivers Dylan Pereira and Philippe Fraga appeared to be the raciest of the three AMR GTE cars during the three preceding Free Practice sessions for the American businessman to come through this afternoon to claim his second class pole of the season so far.

The AMR factory prepared #98 Northwest AMR of Paul Dalla-Lana, Augusto Farfus and Marcos Gomes was the next quickest Aston in Qualifying and they will start P8 ahead of tomorrow’s six-hour race with the #777 TF Sport prepared D’Station Racing AMR starting P11 out of the fifteen GTE-Am class entry.

The #33 TF Sport car runs the heaviest of the three Astons after successes at both Spa and Portimao and under the class’s success ballast regime, that earns them an additional 15kg from their declared base weight.

Tomorrow’s race starts at noon local time.
