Front row lock out in class for the AMR Vantage GT4 runners at the Dubai 24Hr

Thursday, January 13, 2022

The two Aston Martin Racing V8 Vantage GT4 crews from both the PROsport Racing and Heart of Racing teams continued the theme set by the Century Motorsport AMR Vantage GT4 at last weeks Gulf 12Hr at Yas Marina by claiming an exciting GT4 class front row lock out ahead of tomorrow’s start of the 24h Series Dubai 24.

With the series now also featuring a three driver combined Qualifying session, it was left to drivers Nico Verdonck, Mike David Ortmann and Hugo Sasse to snatch the class position from the Heart of Racing team by just five thousandth of a second by the end of the third session.

Of course, tomorrow will see the start of the gruelling twenty-four-hour race so there will be plenty of time for the Heart crew of Gray Newell, Alex Riberas, Ian James and Roman de Angelis to make up that difference for what will be another exciting GT4 battle involving a further eight cars in class.

There were also further Qualifying successes within the GT3 Am Class that the two AMR entries from PROsport Racing and Duel Racing with TF Sport are both now competing in with the #39 PROsport car of Maxime and Guillaume Dumarey with Jean Glorieux and Simon Balcaen coming out in front, claiming third (P17 overall) ahead of tomorrow’s start.

The #95 Dual Racing with TF Sport AMR Vantage GT3 eventually finished P23 overall and P6 in class as ‘new man’ Ahmad Al Harthy lead the way in the beautifully liveried Aston along with brothers Sami and Ramzi Moutran.

The start of the 24Hr race itself will begin at a reasonable time for us in Europe tomorrow at 15:00hrs local which is about 11:00GMT.

As with every 24Hr, there is still everything to race for!
