Into Africa Racing secure debut podiums with their new Aston Martin in Cape Town finale

It was a podium winning success first time out the box for South African GT racer Xolile Letlaka and his co-driver Stuart White, as they auditioned their new Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 at the final round of the season under the shadow of Table Mountain in Cape Town this weekend.

Having only tested the car for the first time at a shakedown test in Pretoria last week, the Into Africa Racing Pro-Am pairing went on to secure a class win during the weekends opening race before taking a P2 finish in class by the end of the second.

When interviewed on the grid earlier, Letlaka was full of praise for his latest racing acquisition having competed before within the teams Lamborghini.

Utilising the engineering expertise of Matty Driessen (a race engineer normally associated with the Belgian Street Art Racing team), Letlaka also intimated that this kind of long-distance relationship with world/European based technical personnel would continue when the season restarts afresh next year together with the potential of a ‘more renowned’ AMR Vantage GT3 partnering him next year.

Not specifically a ‘works driver’ but when the likes of Jordan Pepper are already involved, that would not be beyond the bounds of possibilities.
