Its going to get very busy this weekend in #TeamAMR

Monday, February 06, 2023

Having eased our way into the year with just a 24-hour GT3 race and a ‘couple or three’ of regional GT4 races, just six weeks into 2023 we have what will typically become the norm as up to fourteen Aston Martin Racing customer crews are expected to compete within four events scheduled for this weekend.

The obvious will of course be the Asian Le Mans Series that kicks off in Dubai with two quick-fire four-hour races scheduled around the Dubai Autodrome with a GT field that is expected to contain five AMR Vantage GT3’s.

With the continued presence of TF Sport within the entry list supporting not just their own entry for John Hartshorne/Jonny Adam/Henrique Chaves but also with the return of the Japanese D’Station Racing team with Satoshi Hoshino/Tomonobu Fujii/Charlie Fagg and with Evisu Racing joining both the team and the series for the first time.

Team boss David Pun has acquired himself a formidable line up with Asian racer Adrian D’Silva partnering them alongside AMR factory driver Ross Gunn with these three cars also being joined by both Bullitt Racing and Viper Niza Racing.

Bullitt Racing have faced their own tribulations in just getting to the circuit after their shipping container was left upon the Spanish quayside, but we understand that drivers Valentin Hasse-Clot, Jacob Riegel and Martin Berry will have a car to compete with as will the Malaysian team of Viper Niza, although they do owe us a driver name to race alongside those of Douglas Khoo and Dominic Ang.

Not to be outdone there, the GT Winter Series will be at Jerez in Spain this weekend for their latest round as will up to five Prosport Racing AMR Vantage race cars in both GT3 and GT4 form. As yet, no driver line ups have been confirmed for any of these cars but many will be returning crews from last season as they get ready for this.

Whilst we do have a solo, older generation Vantage GT4 due to compete within the latest World Racing League event at Road Atlanta this weekend (#909 Automatic Racing), we will have up to three new iteration of the Vantage GT4 car compete for the first time within the opening event of the FARA USA Series from the Homestead circuit in Florida as they get ready for the cars debut within the next round of the WRL Series at Barber next month.

All fielded by the TLM Racing team, two new chassis and one secured from the now defunct Bsport Racing team will allow three yet TBC crews to race their Aston’s for the first before diving into the 9hr + 7Hr event of Barber.

It’s going to be a very busy weekend already!!
