Bullitt Racing see out their 2023 campaign in Barcelona

Barcelona marked the season finale for the GT World Challenge Europe Championship, and for Bullitt Racing, it was the conclusion of its first season at the highest level in GT3 competition.

Led by Team Manager Steffan Pattrick, the Spanish squad arrived at its home venue off the back of steady progress in recent rounds. Spa-Francorchamps was the first ever 24-hour event in GT3 competition, and the team went the distance and finished a fine sixth. Nurburgring saw another gain with fourth position, and so hopes were high at the season finale at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. After a tough, arduous race, the #33 Aston Martin Vantage crossed the line seventh in Silver Cup.

"We really did want a podium this year, but the gains we have made give us confidence for 2024; we are going to be taking the fight to the teams that have been doing this for a lot longer than us," stated Team Manager Steffan Pattrick. "Success is in no way guaranteed in this game, but if you can learn from your failures and maximise when you perform, you will move forward. We knew entering this championship that we'd compete against great competitors and drivers, which is the reality.

“Over the season, we undoubtedly improved and got some strong results. Sometimes, things outside our control meant we couldn't demonstrate our abilities at every round. Over the season, we undoubtedly improved – drivers and team."

Maxime Robin joined team regulars Jacob Reigel and Romain Leroux for this event, retaining Silver Cup status. As an Aston Martin Vantage regular, the former slotted into the team well, immediately looking comfortable in the #33 GT3 Vantage.

Saturday brought two practice sessions, where all three drivers were able to get plenty of laps to acclimatise to the circuit. Jacob, making his race debut at the Spanish venue, also had an additional hour of running ahead of the race weekend. Sunday brought qualifying, three short sessions to provide an average lap time and a grid position of eight in the Silver Cup, 45th overall.

Maxime had the unenviable task of starting the three-hour race and seized the opportunity with relish. A brilliant opening lap moved him up to sixth in the Silver Cup ranks, passing many from the other classes in the process. He set the team's best lap on lap ten and then survived a near miss with a spinning Porsche. After an eventful stint, he handed over to Jacob.

From here, the race was more tricky. Running eighth, Jacob – completing his first full season of GT3 competition – found the tyres degraded more than he had expected. His laps were consistent, but the pace was dropping away. Romain took the final run to the chequered flag, but with numerous safety car periods, he had very little actual racing in that final hour of the season.

A fourth position, two sixths, and a seventh provide a solid base for the team, one that can be developed over the winter period and will help propel Bullitt Racing towards the sharp end of the field.

Bullitt Racing now heads back to its Spanish base and continues discussions and preparation for the winter race programme and the 2024 summer campaign.

A change of driver line up at Bullitt Racing sees out the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup Series

A change of driver line up at Bullitt Racing sees out the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup Series

The final round of the SRO GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup season beckons this weekend from the Circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona, Spain where another fifty-five GT3 car entry will entice a large crowd to the circuit and a larger audience to its live stream.

Having competed at a previous five rounds including the flagship 24Hrs of Spa Francorchamps, the locally based Bullitt Racing team remain the solo Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 competing team at this final round albeit with a slightly differing driver line up.

Remaining within their chosen silver class that they have competed within all season, the #33 car’s season long regulars of Romain Leroux and Jacob Riegel return to Spain to see out the year but this time they see Jeff Kingsley stepping aside for the pair to be joined by young French racer Maxime Robin.

With many of the series Championship classes already decided, this weekend’s round will be more about ‘setting their stall out’ ahead of any 2024 programme within both the GT World Challenge Series and others.

Since the last round from the Nurburgring back in late July where the #33 car finished with their best result of the season so far in P4, Leroux has been back to the Asian racing arena he knows so well to claim another double F1 Singapore support race (Thailand Super Series) within an AMR Vantage GT4 whilst Robin competed within the latest round of the European Le Mans Series only last weekend.

Tomorrow sees the first of the track action for the series with the first Paid Test session before the more formal sessions starting on Saturday with Free Practice and Pre-Qualifying before Qualifying and the final three-hour race of the season on Sunday afternoon.

Having had to bear considerable challenges of their own this season, it will be great of the team can go out  with a podium finish this weekend!

Best result yet for Bullitt Racing at the Nurburgring

Best result yet for Bullitt Racing at the Nurburgring

Bullitt Racing secured its best result to date in Fanatec GT World Challenge Endurance Cup yesterday, taking the chequered flag with the #33 Aston Martin Vantage fourth in the Silver Cup class, 30th overall after three hours of frantic green flag action at the Nurburgring.

The penultimate round of the series brought heavy rain and glimpses of sunshine, but the race was dry following a wet qualifying session on Sunday morning. The trio of Silver-graded racers - Romain Leroux, Jeff Kingsley and Jacob Riegel – all produced strong drives to move from seventh on the grid to a fighting fourth at the end.

The Spanish squad worked through the paid test sessions and free practice sessions ahead of qualifying. Romain undoubtedly had the most challenging task as the heavens opened just ahead of his 15-minute session. While some hit trouble, he impressed with the second fastest time. Next up was Jeff, in more conventional wet conditions, while a dry line was forming as Jabob took to the circuit to set the fifth-best time in the class.

Starting seventh, Romain found himself in a Silver sandwich early on but was soon able to make progress as he passed the #56 on track with the #26 Audi close behind. The latter battle would continue for much of the race as he worked his way to P5 at the end of his stint.

Jeff was next up and mighty quick too on the fresh Pirellis out of the box. His initial gains were compromised as the #26 used a long first stint to gain track position, and then the Canadian racer got caught up behind the #31 WRT entry. Once clear on lap 50, he pulled a margin before pitting eight laps later. Jacob was charged with the third and final stint, quickly recording the best lap of the race and resuming the race with the #26.

Having passed traffic, he closed in and made the move for what would become fourth position on lap 72. Caught out slightly with the Audi slowing somewhat unexpectedly at turn three, there was light contact, but the pass was completed.

From that point, it was a case of ensuring the finish, albeit with a five-second time penalty for that contact. He duly completed the 91st and final lap to take the chequered flag.

The result underlines the ongoing gains the Bullitt Racing team are making in a very competitive race environment. The final race of the season takes place in Barcelona in late September, and it would be most fitting to wrap up the season with some Silverware on home turf.

Back to business for Bullitt Racing from the Nurburgring this weekend

Back to business for Bullitt Racing from the Nurburgring this weekend

Late to the party again sees us only now looking forward to this weekend’s resumption of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup Series with their latest round from the Nurburgring and the return of the #33 Bullitt Racing Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3.

Last time out at Spa Francorchamps for the Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa back at the beginning of the month saw the best season result to date for the team and trio of drivers Romain Leroux, Jacob Riegel and Jeff Kingsley after they (with Ruben Del Sarte) secured a P6 in Silver Cup class finish at the end of another gruelling twenty-four and despite some more technical issues along the way.

This weekend’s round in Germany will be the fourth of the Endurance Series so far after events at both Monza and Paul Ricard before that of the Spa 24. This weekend’s entry list sees no change within the #33 camp as the team competes against a Silver Cup class of eight amongst another sizeable grid of fifty-three cars.

Today’s two private test sessions saw fifty-one of those cars run with the #33 Bullitt Racing car P19 overall (P2 in class after this morning’s cooler and damper session) before seeing the day out P50 (P7 in class) by the end of the second session.

Tomorrow will see the ninety-minute Free Practice session run in the morning ahead of the ninety minute pre-Qualifying session over midday before Qualifying itself on Sunday morning and the start to the three hour race at 14:45Hrs local.

Bullitt Racing overcomes previous adversity to finish Crowdstrike 24Hrs of Spa at first attempt.

Bullitt Racing overcomes previous adversity to finish Crowdstrike 24Hrs of Spa at first attempt.

Bullitt Racing completed its very first GT3 24-Hour race Sunday afternoon (July 2nd, 2023), securing a solid sixth-place finish in the Silver Cup class in the Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa with drivers Jacob Riegel, Jeff Kingsley, Romain Leroux and Ruben Real del Sarte.

A frustrating car niggle aside, it was a near-flawless performance from both the team and drivers alike, equalling its best result of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup. Crucially, the result provides momentum heading into the next round of the championship at Nurburgring.

The whole week in the Belgian Ardennes was special, especially given the trials and tribulations the team had been through over recent weeks. The brand-new #33 Aston Martin Vantage (Chassis 16A-018-1) made its debut this week following an incident in testing that destroyed the chassis that started the season. The hard work paid dividends as it completed one of the toughest challenges in global GT racing, passing the gruelling test with flying colours.

The opening stint of the race from Romain was impressive, gaining six positions on the track and three in the Silver Cup class to run P7. Ruben jumped in to make his GT3 race debut, and this was a more difficult stint, losing time in the pits and finding the green track challenging in terms of dealing with the understeer.

Jeff was next up, but by this point, an electrical issue with the centre switch panel meant that some crucial functions were unavailable to the driver, including creature comforts. This made for difficulties opening stints for both Jeff and Jacob.

The replacement panel took ten minutes to fix, unfortunately under green flag conditions, and this put the #33 Vantage firmly at the back of the Silver Cup class by two complete laps. By midnight, the team had pressed on and moved to P8.

There were several lengthy safety car periods in the early hours, and by sunrise (no sun, grey and chilly), the drivers had cycled through multiple stints without too much drama and ran sixth in Silver Cup and inside the top 50 overall for the first time. However, with six laps separating us from the #26 ahead in P5, it would take attrition over the final eight hours to make further gains.

Into the closing stages, Romain moved fifth as a rival hit trouble and into the final pitstop with 45 minutes to go, and all seemed to be well. However, a left rear shim failure meant a frantic final stop and the loss of the fifth position. Romain ultimately took the chequered flag and secured the team’s first 24-hour race finish in sixth position.

Team Manager Stefan Pattrick summed things up by saying “I am happy that we completed the race and took the chequered flag, albeit not in the position we were hoping for. Along with many of our rivals, it’s a challenge, and we suffered from some technical issues which hampered us in our ability to fight for a podium position.

“Nonetheless, we managed these issues very well. The electrical issue meant that we had to problem solve on the fly – especially during the night – just to survive whilst staying within the regulations. The boys did a good job behind the wheel, very consistent and cautious, which is not easy when all your instincts tell you to push. They understood the limits, did what they needed to ensure we finished the race.

“Next year, we plan to be back, and we will be making incremental changes to mitigate against some of these issues we have had and to capitalise on the pace of the car and the consistency that the platform brings. Overall, I am very proud of the drivers in a gruelling race. They have shown good rates of development with the team, engineers and together, we have managed to get there in the end.”

Bullitt Racing prepare for their biggest test to date at this weekends Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa

Bullitt Racing prepare for their biggest test to date at this weekends Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa

The Spanish based Bullitt Racing team again fly the Aston Martin Racing flag this weekend as the SRO GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup Series reaches its flagship event around the iconic Belgian circuit of Spa Francorchamps with the Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa.

After previous rounds at both Monza and most recently Paul Ricard, if there was ever one thing that the team would be looking or hoping for this weekend then that would be plain old fashioned good luck!!

Having endured something rapidly approaching a total nightmare so far this season which saw the destruction of one car at the Spa 24 Hour test last month and then fire damage to their replacement on at the Paul Ricard round after that, the #33 car’s regular squad of drivers Romain Leroux, Jeff Kingsley and Jacob Riegel will just want to be still circulating at the end of this weekend’s 24-hour event if nothing else.

Being part of the series Silver class, the distinctly liveried black and red Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 will also be driven by Ruben Del Sarte who joins the squad off the back of his GT4 European Series driver duties that he has this weekend with the #5 Mirage Racing car of Jamie Day.

Seventy cars are listed for this weekend’s event, each spread about the available Pro, Pro-Am, Silver, Gold and Bronze classes with the #33 crew helping to make up a ten strong silver class.

Specific details as to the driver grading and classes found within the GT World Challenge Endurance Cup Series can be found via https://www.crowdstrike24hoursofspa.com/news/2584/everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-2023-crowdstrike-24-hours-of-spa?filter_on_24_site=1&filter_language_id=1&filter_team_news=0

The first track activity of the event has already concluded today with the running of the Bronze driver test as the teams and drivers now look forward to tomorrows extraordinary parade from the circuit and into the Spa city centre before over five hours of track time is available on Thursday for Free Practice, Pre-Qualifying, Qualifying and night practice.

Friday then sees the conclusion of the Qualifying process with Super Pole before final warm on Friday evening before the main event is waved off at 16:30hrs local on Saturday afternoon.

Del Sarte joins Bullitt Racing for Spa 24

Del Sarte joins Bullitt Racing for Spa 24

Bullitt Racing are now busy preparing for the jewel in the crown of the Fanatec GT World Challenge calendar, the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, a true classic on the race calendar featuring over 70 GT3 cars from teams around the globe, competing at the fabled Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

The team, therefore, welcomes Ruben Real del Sarte to the squad, joining GT World Challenge Europe race regulars Jacob Riegel, Jeff Kingsley, and Romain Leroux in the Silver Cup-entered #33 Aston Martin Vantage.

Bullitt Racing is the sole Aston Martin customer team entry in the field, joining seven other major global brands in the event. For Ruben, who competes in the GT4 European Series in a Vantage GT4, the opportunity to team up with Bullitt Racing for this great event was too good an opportunity to miss!

“I am absolutely thrilled to be given the chance to drive with Bullitt Racing at Spa,” he began. “It is my favourite track, and being in an Aston Martin GT3 with them is just a dream for me.

“I’ve been following GT3 closely as it is my goal in the future to race for in this championship, so being given a chance to compete in the 24 hours of Spa for the second time feels unreal to me,” he continued. “I can’t express my gratitude enough to Bullitt Racing, Aston Martin Racing, my sponsors and my family for the massive help and support. I will do my very best to maximise the potential of the car together with my teammates. I’m really looking forward to it, can’t wait to hit the track with them.”

Bullitt Racing first ran Aston Martin GT3 machinery in the Michelin Le Mans Cup in 2022, securing regular podium positions in what was a successful campaign with Valentin Hasse-Clot and Stephen Pattrick. This year, the Spanish-based squad opted to join the GT World Challenge Europe, making its series debut recently at Monza, where Jacob, Jeff and Romain steered clear of trouble to finish a solid sixth. While Paul Ricard was more difficult, the team aims to continue its push to the front of the Silver Cup field.

“This series remains a learning experience for us all heading into our first 24-hour race with a GT3 car, but we can’t wait to get going,” stated Team Manager Steffan Pattrick. “The whole week will be thrilling, from the street parade in Spa town, through to the practice, qualifying and the race itself. We have a young Silver quartet; they are all hungry for success, as is the team.

“We are the only Aston Martin Racing Partner Team at Spa this year, which is both an honour and a privilege! The Silver Cup will be close and ultra-competitive, but we have confidence in our abilities and drivers. We will give our all to maximise opportunities, aiming for our first GT World Challenge podium.”

AMR crews continued at a pace within both the highs and the lows of GT racing at the weekend

AMR crews continued at a pace within both the highs and the lows of GT racing at the weekend

Completing the final set of race events from the weekend that saw Aston Martin Racing powered team participation was totally an up or down situation as we saw the Bullitt Racing team represent the marque within the latest round of the GT World Challenge Endurance Cup and the Feathers Motorsport team competing again within the UK’s GT Cup Championship.

Starting in Europe, the Bullitt Racing team were back in action down at the Paul Ricard circuit in southern France for what was only the second round of the GTWCE Endurance Cup for their new Silver Cup crew of Romain Leroux, Jacob Riegel, Jeff Kingsley and their #33 Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3.

Recent weeks had unfortunately not gone in the favour of the Spanish based team as pre-Spa-24 event testing in Belgium had gone horribly wrong with a sizeable incident through Eau Rouge and into Raidillon for one resulted in significant damage to their primary vehicle.

Quick work from the team however soon has their spare chassis prepared in time for last weekend’s event in France where progress remained strong until technical issues side-lined the #33 car just after the first of the three Qualifying sessions going into Saturday’s six-hour – 1000km affair.

Starting from the rear of the grid, progress again looked promising after great stints from both Kingsley and Riegel before the team experienced further disaster with still two hours on the race clock remaining when flash fire within pit lane during a routine stop resulted in the car being covered in extinguishant (as well as maybe fire damage) which resulted in the black and red car being parked for the remainder of the race. One day these guys will get a break in fortunes!!!

Next stop for these guys will be at the Spa 24 itself in three weeks’ time.

On a happy note, the #82 Feathers Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT4 crew of James Guess and Tom Canning enjoyed another consistent set of results across last weekend’s four races that formed the third round of the GT Cup from Snetterton.

Again running solo for the two sprint races, Guess continued with his own individual podium winning streak to bring home another brace of P2 in class finishes before going onto doubling that prize haul again during the two endurance rounds with Canning.

Another class win and a third completed another 100% track record for the pairing in the three rounds so far and place the #82 crew at the head of the GTH Class and towards the top of the overall leader board going into the next round of the Championship at Oulton Park in early July.

Great news from Bullitt Racing for France after their recent bad news in Belgium!!

Great news from Bullitt Racing for France after their recent bad news in Belgium!!

Bullitt Racing are all set for the second round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup which takes place this coming weekend at Circuit Paul Ricard. Once again, the team will field an all-silver line-up of Jeff Kingsley, Jacob Riegel and Romain Leroux in the #33 Aston Martin Vantage.

Following a testing accident at Spa-Francorchamps, the Spanish-based squad have successfully built up the team’s spare chassis for the forthcoming 1000KM challenge.

Pre-season testing proved positive for Bullitt Racing at the French venue and having finished a solid sixth at the season-opening round at Monza, head to Paul Ricard confident in building on that early season momentum.

“Jeff isn’t the first, nor the last driver to crash a race car at Eau Rouge,” stated team manager Steffan Pattrick. “We have had the time to build up the second chassis ahead of the first official running this week and we’re keen to hit the ground running.

“We weren’t the quickest at Monza, but we know the reason behind this and hope we get a little boost in performance this week at Paul Ricard, a circuit where the straights are as important as at Monza for overall lap time. We look forward to this event and believe that we’ll be working our way towards the sharp end of the Silver Cup field.”

The six-hour race will see 57 cars take the start across five different classes with the action taking place from Friday at 14:35 local time.

The 1000KM race starts at 18:00 Saturday, June 3rd.

Major set back for the Bullitt Racing AMR team at Crowdstrike 24Hours of Spa Official Test

Major set back for the Bullitt Racing AMR team at Crowdstrike 24Hours of Spa Official Test

Today was supposed to be the first day of a two-day official test in advance of the Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa Francorchamps but instead turned into anything but for the Bullitt Racing team.

Being the sole Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 running within the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup and 24 Hours of Spa this year, all AMR supporters eyes have been fixed upon the Bullitt Racing Silver Cup trio of Roman Leroux, Jacob Riegel and Jeff Kingsley ever since their late official confirmation and first round of the Endurance Cup at Monza a month ago.

Today was supposed to allow all sixty-eight entries into this year’s SRO flagship event, get some valuable early track time around the Belgian circuit ahead of the main events that runs over the weekend of 28/29thJune.

Having ran in today’s earlier test session, the #33 car posted just nineteen laps and a best lap time of 2:38.574 against the fastest Pro class time of 2:18:525 as the young trio slowly got up to speed during what were cool and slippery track conditions.

Without driver ID’s being display, a further twenty-four laps were entered into before a reported incident through Eau Rouge and up to Raidillon saw the black and red car returned to the paddock with significant rear end damage. Thankfully, the team have confirmed that their driver is otherwise OK, but the damage is such as they will not be participating any further in this week’s test.

Their next race will now be on to either fix the damage or replace the chassis in time for the 24 Hour’s race week in less than a month’s time. There are photos about of the damage but they are too depressing for the team to post!

Fantastic debut for Bullitt Racing in GTWCE opener

Fantastic debut for Bullitt Racing in GTWCE opener

Bullitt Racing travelled to Monza this week for the opening round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe, with three new drivers to the series, two new to the team and the #33 Aston Martin Vantage and came away from the Italian venue with a solid sixth position in the all-silver GT3 class.

The Spanish-based outfit had tested at the circuit previously in the build-up to the event, but there’s nothing quite like the race action to earn the spurs.

There was a great deal learned today and tons of data for the team to carry over to the next meeting at Paul Ricard. Credit to all three young rookie drivers – Jeff Kingsley, Jacob Riegel and Romain Leroux – who did not put a foot wrong throughout the three-hour season opener.

Jeff started P9, and was keen to make progress, as the race progressed, his teammates took over the Vantage to work their way up to P6, come the chequered flag.

“We had fuel issues, in the fact that we could not fill the tank in some of the stops, then we got boxed in at the first, couldn’t exit and that cost us the lead lap,” stated Team Manager Steffan Pattrick. “We were stuck, couldn’t move. The boxes are tiny here at Monza!”

The team resumed, but for whatever reason, the #33 proved to be slow in straight-line speed. So much so, rivals could pass with a solid straight-line speed delta

“BoP is part of the game; it will balance out as the season progresses, for us and all three drivers,” Steffan said. “The Vantage was good today, but we really lacked full-chat speed, but it’s the way it is. The Vantage is new back to the series and yes, we’re looking for a performance break later in the season, but today was good, and so much was learned in how to maximise the Pirellis ahead of the next one.”

While, the end result was good, and yes, it did feel a bit like the first week of secondary school, full credit to the fantastic crew and the three new Silver-graded drivers. We will make massive gains, learn and move on as we get to grips with the tightest GT3 challenge of them all. Next up, Paul Ricard.

European Le Mans Series and Le Mans Cup Series get ready to go in Barcelona next week

European Le Mans Series and Le Mans Cup Series get ready to go in Barcelona next week

Whilst the FIA World Endurance Championship is presently contesting its second round of the season in Portimao, Portugal the ACO rules ‘feeder series’ of the European Le Mans series and Le Mans Cup Series will both be getting down to business with their 2023 seasons next week in Spain.

With an official two-day Prologue test around the Circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona for the ELMS series and a corresponding single day test for the Le Mans Cup, next weekend will see the first rounds of each series ahead of what will be a six-round season for both.

Within the LMP2/LMP3/GTE grid of the ELMS, we will see the TF Sport team continue to fly the Aston Martin Racing flag with the greater volume of cars of that make as they present both the #95 car of John Hartshorne, Jonny Adam and Ben Tuck as well as the #72 Project 24 car of Valentin Hasse-Clot alongside brothers Max and Arnold Robin.

They in turn will race alongside the debuting GMB Motorsport team with the AMR brand for the first time as drivers Jens Reno Moller and Gustav Birch will now by AMR factory driver Nikki Thiim in a revised line up as to that previously advised at the time of their announcement.

With the ELMS being another Balance of Performance based series (much like that of the FIA WEC GTE Am class), that criteria has already been set by the series technical panel for this opening round (subject to change of course) where the AMR Vantage GTE platform will be based upon a base weight of 1245kg and 88litres of fuel (turbo boost pressures rarely change between events).

Then in turn, we have the space left by the departing Bullitt Racing team within the supporting Le Mans Cup Series taken by the Racing Spirit of Lemans team as they step up beyond the Vantage GT4 platform that they compete in within both the FFSA GT4 and GT4 European Series for the first time.

Here the #10 RSLM car will compete with a driver pairing of Valentin Hasse-Clot and Arnold Robin again where this pair will race a double header programme in both Series at each venue within their twelve strong full season class.

Whilst the ELMS cars compete within a four-hour race, the LMP3 and GT3 based cars compete within a shorter one hour and fifty-minute race format at each of their race venues except Le Mans where they have two races.

In a similar fashion to the ELMS GTE runners, the LMC GT3 cars are all BoP’d as well with the Vantage GT3 platform starting the year at 1300kg but with a differing boost regime to that of the GTE equivalent.

The Prologue test will run over with five sessions for the ELMS runners and just two sessions for the LMC runners over just the first day. Both series will then remain at the circuit ahead of the start to the opening round just a few days later.

Bullitt Racing indeed fly the solo AMR flag within the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup

Bullitt Racing indeed fly the solo AMR flag within the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup

Absence indeed makes the heart grow fonder as first we thought there were none, that just a solo twenty-four entry before today’s announcement from Bullitt Racing finally confirms a full season GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup Aston Martin Racing entry.

Last year, that mantle was held by the Beechdean AMR team with what started as a Gold and Pro class entries before descending into a Silver / Pro class entry for the blue ribband Spa 24. We all now know that that relationship with the series became futile with continuing beyond that point (such is the cut throat competitiveness of the series) that if you haven’t scored many points between the start until after Spa - then there is not a lot of point continuing, and that is what happened.

Today’s news however is more positive as the Spanish based team will headline for the AMR within the Endurance Cup rounds of the series with an all new, silver class line up that sees the young German, Jacob Riegel returns to the squad after his Asian Le Mans Series adventures with them earlier this year to partner the 2021 FFSA GT4 Champion Romain Leroux with Canadian GT World Challenge Europe racer Jeff Kingsley.

All three drivers come with somewhat limited GT3 experience (Kingsley possibly the most having raced a Mercedes AMG GT3 in the series last year) but none will be lacking in the enthusiasm department with the silver class always being strong and just as competitive as the full Pro class.

Including their already confirmed entry into the Spa 24, the #33 Bullitt Racing will join another capacity grid where many have already had seat time during the recent pre-season prologue test at Paul Ricard earlier this year.

The opening round to the 2023 will be from Monza in just three weeks’ time.
