Viper Niza back out in the Thailand Super Series opener at the Chang International

It was a positive return to the Thailand Super Series at the weekend for the Viper Niza Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 crew of Douglas Khoo and Dominic Ang.

Having already embraced a ‘challenging’ 2023 season so far within an ill-fated Asian Le Mans Series campaign and a visit to the Sepang 12hr, this weekend’s visit to the Chang International Circuit in Buriram gave the Malaysian based team precisely what they needed after a difficult season so far that necessitated the rebuilding of the front end of their car after a big accident for Khoo during the second race of the Asian Le Mans Series in Dubai.

Returning to the series that first saw the Viper Niza team debut their new Aston Martin as during the F1 support race in Singapore last year, the team competed within the two race programme with the #65 crew completing the solo Qualifying and pit stop punctuated races apiece to come home P6 overall and in class in both despite the difficulties experienced with the tyres in the 40 degree plus ambient temperatures.

At least this will help to restore a degree of confidence within themselves and the car as the series moves onto the same circuit again at the end of May.
