Thursday, June 08, 2023

Whilst there is obviously a significant endurance race weekend presently underway in northern France, there will also be another one kicking off later around the Daytona International Speedway as the World Racing League undertake their sixth round of the season with a fourteen-hour bash.

Early indications had shown up to eight Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT4 teams being entered but that has now dropped to five after the Prosport Competition and second JR111 and Automatic Racing cars fell by the wayside.

The locally based TLM Racing team are again the most prolific amongst the events twenty-nine strong GTO class with David Tuaty’s led outfit fielding three examples again of the latest turbo charged generation of AMR Vantage GT4.

The Automatic Racing team of David Russell should have also fielded their two versions of the older normally aspirated generation of the AMR Vantage GT4 but that has now decreased to just one as is the case with the JR111 Racing team who will be running their #48 Vantage GT4 in competition for the very first time since securing two platforms at the start of the year.

As far as we know, driver line ups will be: -

#909 Automatic Racing – Brandon Kidd, Rob Ecklin, Ramin Abdolvahabi, Steven Davison.

#888 TLM Racing – Brian O’Shaughnessy, David Tuaty, Pippa Mann

#172 TLM Racing – Jim Hamman, Stephen Hamman, Tom Herb

#453 Ruckus Racing – Scott Blind, Evan Stamer, Spyke Kohlbecker

#48 JR111 Racing – Marc Sharinn, Tyler Sharinn, Mike Skeen

Friday will see up to four hours of testing available to the fifty-nine strong grid before the race on Saturday.
