Aston Martins triumph again in Iberian Supercars return at Jerez

Tuesday, October 24, 2023

It was a successful return to the Iberian Supercars Series for the now, two Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT4 crews as the GT4/TCR based grid ran for the first time at Jarama in early June around the Spanish circuit of Jerez.

Welcoming back the class leading #007 Araujo Competicao Aston Martin of Alvaro Ramos and Fernando Soares, for this return to racing after their summer break also saw the first running of the #777 Alexandre Martin and Rubin Vaquinhas.

With not just Portimao in Portugal having exclusivity of the rain down in southern Europe over the weekend, Jerez also saw plenty of the wet stuff during their race day on Sunday which saw the #007 crew take a double GTX class win to virtually secure that class with one race weekend remaining with a 100% track record.

Not letting them have all the fun, the #777 managed a similarly impressive P2 finish in class after Race 1 before just missing out on the double in race two where the Portuguese drivers had to be done with a P4 finish.

The final round of the season takes place at Estoril at the end of November.
