Championship winning success for Prosport Racing at NLS finale

Sunday, October 08, 2023

It was a championship winning kind of weekend as tow Aston Martin Racing powered teams finally laid their hands upon the ultimate prize that they had been chasing all season making another win apiece for the Vantage GT3 and GT4 platform.

In Germany, there was on Saturday the running of the final Nurburgring Langstrecken Serie around the notorious Nurburgring Nordschliefe as both the Doer Motorsport entered a solo Vantage GT3 again and the Prosport Racing teams two of each platform into this final round.

Whilst the return of AMR factory driver Darren Turner to the #24 SP9 Pro class entry alongside brothers Phil and Ben Dorr did not this time result in another class podium, their ultimate P6 overall and P5 in class finish to round off their 2023 season puts them in good stead ahead of whatever they have planned for 2024.

Alongside them were the two Vantage GT3 and Vantage GT4 crews from the locally based Prosport Racing team and it was to be Championship winning success for part of the #17 crew of Maxime Dumarey, Marek Bockmann and Mike David Ortmann (in a late reconfigured driver line up between GT3 cars) as the SP9 Pr0-Am entered car came home second in class by the end of that four-hour race for Dumarey to claim that Championship win.

The race success within the team also extended out to their GT4 crew of Hugo Sasse, Celia Martin and Fabienne Wohlwend came home ended their part time NLS season with a P3 finish within their SP10 class. The team didn’t have it all their own way however as both the #37 Vantage GT3 and #176 Vantage GT4 entries failed to finish.
