DeBoer prepares early for SRO America 2024

No need to panic as this sale of former The Racers Group Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 is simply the next step by the team as ‘resident’ driver Derek DeBoer plans ahead for 2024.

Having acquired the former and then recently rebuilt Ian Lacey – Frank Gannett/Drew Staveley car over the run up to this season, the Kevin Buckler led TRG team rekindled their association with Aston Martin Racing as they and DeBoer stepped up a gear from GT4 competition of late to replace the Ian Lacey team within the SRO America GT World Challenge America Series during 2023.

Initially partnered with AMR factory driver Ross Gunn, DeBoer also received early cross-over training from fellow AMR factory driver Valentin Hasse-Clot and with Gunn being quickly double booked for his IMSA responsibilities, it was the young Frenchman who guided DeBoer through to the Pro-Am class podium on more than one occasion for much of the season.

At the final round of the season at Indianapolis earlier this month, DeBoer confirmed his intention to return to the series in 2024 but with the new ‘Evo’ version of the AMR Vantage GT3 that is still within its later/homologatory stages of development today.

Presumably (?) upon the advice of one or two close to the team who have driven this new race car, DeBoer has placed his existing car up for sale to make room for the delivery of this new model within the next few months as the 2024 season kicks off again in Sonoma in April.
