Triple Two Motorsport complete the VP Racing Sportscar Challenge AMR entry for Daytona
Friday, January 19, 2024
For them, the Roar is not a test weekend but their opening race weekend of their new 2024 season as ten LMP3 and twenty-three GSX (GT4) cars go head-to-head for the first time with two forty-five-minute races over the course of Saturday and Sunday for their solo driver.
This weekend’s entry list and opening Free Practice timing screen still shows four Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT4 cars entered – that of the returning Scott Blind in his #45 Ruckus Racing entry, the #82 Van Der Steur entry of Brady Behrman as well as the brand new 2024 Vantage GT4 Evo for Frank DePew and his #72 Rebel Rock entry.
Whilst these three drivers will be well known to us who follow IMSA and SRO America GT Series – not necessarily within an Aston Martin in regards to DePew, as McWilliams becomes just another one of this season’s convertees to the Aston Martin Racing stable as he steps across from the Ferrari Challenge USA to the IMSA sanctioned support series with what appears to be one of the ex. Paul Kiebler AMR’s from last season for his Triple Two Motorsport concern.
Although the #72 did not run within this first session of this series, it did run within the Michelin Pilot Challenge Series first Free Practice session within which the Rebel Rock crew are also full season entrants.
This series will have two Free Practice sessions today before going into Qualifying early tomorrow morning before race 1 later in the afternoon and Race 2 at midday tomorrow.
2024 in North America starts now!
