Lorenzo finally takes his AMR powered seat within the Italian Gran Turismo Championship this weekend

For those thinking that perhaps that the race action the 24 Hours of Le Mans and its supporting series have to offer this weekend is not quite to their taste, then there is perhaps the third round of the Italian Gran Turismo Championship from Vallelunga.

Again featuring the recently rebranding L& A Infinity Aston Martin Racing (formerly Lazarus Corse) Vantage GT3 sees the much-reported presence of former Moto GP racer Jorge Lorenzo finally get behind the wheel of the #5 race car alongside co-driver William Alatalo and Indian racer Mahaveer Raghunatan.

With Mattia de Giusto stepping aside, this event will be the AMR racing debut for the Spanish racer who (like many others before him) taken to the four-wheel form of motor racing since hanging up their leathers.

Lorenzo has tested with the team on many occasions since the news of his presence first broke at the turn of the year so at least he will have some GT3 mileage and experience under his belt in time for this weekend’s two races.
