Another adventure ride for the sole AMR competing around the streets of Macau this weekend

Whilst there was racing success for the Aston Martin Racing powered entry into the final round of the NLS Series in Germany yesterday, that sadly could not be replicated earlier today as the streets and weather conditions of Macau put that beyond the scope of the sole AMR Vantage GT4 competing there.

With Qualifying session yesterday having also been red flag interrupted for a blocked track, permitted only fifteen of the twenty-six strong entry from entering any lap time at all with the BSEM prepared #87 Eatnos Oil sponsored Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT4 of Stanley Yang having to make do with his P11 position.

Come race day on Sunday morning and after further heavy overnight rain again delayed matters to such a state that the Greater Bay Area GT Cup race started from within pit lane and behind the Safety Car for one lap before Race Control deemed track conditioners fit enough to race.

That however was short-lived as on the first flying lap as one of the leading two cars nosed itself into the tyre wall – narrowly missed by many immediately behind him but unfortunately found by the #87 Aston Martin which struck the rear corner of the BMW and effectively blocked the track as well. That brought out the Safety Car again for another two laps before the pack was released again for a six-lap dash to the flag.

Despite post race time penalties given to the first two cars across the line, that didn't improve upon the finishing position of the #87 car in P9 overall.
