GT4 Winter Series back to back opening weekends in Portugal
Tuesday, January 21, 2025
Having seen the Forsetti Motorsport team utilise this winter series to great effect last season (overall winners of course with Mikey Porter and Jamie Day), this time we have the Racing Spirit of Leman team in attendance with their Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT4 Evo for Baudouin Detout and Max Hewitt to share alongside the older iteration of the chassis from the Mucke Motorsport team for Thilo Goos.
Not a stranger to the sister SRO GT4 European and FFSA GT4 Series of course, the Racing Spirit of Leman team will be hopeful that their #39 Pro class entry will hoping for much of the same that Forsetti enjoyed last season whilst the more gentlemanly Goos is there just for the thrill of it all.
With qualifying and the first thirty-minute race of the weekend on Saturday, the #39 finished P6 overall (P5 in class) whilst the #700 finished P13 overall (P1 in class) before a change of day also brought about a change in weather as the heavens opened again to provide some very tricky racing conditions.

An improvement in race 2 for the #39 coming home P8 overall (P4 in class) whilst the #700 lost out to its nearest competitor this time around to finish P14 overall (P2 in class). The third and final race of the weekend was a one-hour pit stop based race (with a timed stop for all the solo drivers) eventually red flagged due to the conditions and incidents on track, the #39 was noted to have finished P10 overall (P5 in class) with the #700 P12 overall (P2 in class).
The entry list for round 2 at Portimao shows a great car count compared to Estoril but there will still be just two Aston Martins.
