Misfortune again follows the E2P Racing AMR team within the 24H Series
Saturday, May 24, 2025
Racing back in Italy this weekend for the third round of the 24H Series European Series from Misano, the #90 crew of Pablo Burguera, Antonio Sainero and Oliver Campos had hoped of better things after technical issues ended their opening two rounds of the season at both Barcelona and Spa.
Despite contending with some mixed weather at the circuit, the car did again qualify within the sharper end of the twenty-one strong grid in sixth, but their supposed twelve hours of racing lasted little over an hour before everything came crashing down again.
With Sainero thing time starting the car under the morning sun, everything looked like it was warming up nicely in more ways than one in fifth place before (unseen) contact between the Aston Martin and the #888 Porsche saw the spin out and contact heavily with the tyre wall just after the top end of the first hour of racing.
Although recovered to the pit lane, sufficient repairs were made by the crew to return it to the action for a few more laps but with little chance of a points score and issues remaining within the car, the team sadly elected to withdraw the car again.
From here, things can only get better with the next round of the season coming up from Paul Ricard at the start of July.
