Triple AMR powered success after Michelin Pilot Challenges visit to Laguna Seca
Sunday, May 11, 2025
With just four AMR Vantage GT4 crews competing this time around within the combined GS and TCR entry of forty cars, it was the #71 Rebel Rock entry of Frank DePew and Robin Liddell who shone brightest in California as the (perhaps more life experienced) of the four Astons took the charge to the front to end this two-hour thriller with a P2 finish overall.
Hardly a lights to flag procession though as the team had to fight hard to elevate themselves up from their qualifying position of P18 whilst the defending championship car of last season, the #46 Team TGM car of Matt Plumb and Paul Holton still struggled to get their 2025 campaign underway with a P10 qualifying position turning into a P8 at the end of the two hours.
There was, however, further Bronze Cup success for the #64 Team TGM AMR reigning Bronze Cup Champions of Ted Giovanis and Hugh Plumb as they were squeezed off the top step of their podium by the RAFA Racing Toyota into P29 finish overall, P16 in class but P2 in Bronze Cup.
They were followed up again by the #15 Van Der Steur AMR of husband-and-wife team Ben and Christian Sloss who finished one place down to the #64.
