Another topsy-turvy DTM and ADAC GT4 Germany Series finale last weekend from Hockenheim

Last weekend’s final races of the DTM and ADAC GT4 Germany Series produced another two races with a totally mixed bag of results for the Aston Martin Racing powered teams competing within them at the Hockenheimring circuit in Germany.

Despite the extremely varied weather at the circuit over the weekend, the Comtoyou Racing team again showed potential within the headlining DTM Series as Gilles Magnus qualified his #7 Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 sixth overall ahead of a very wet race one on Saturday before claiming pole for race two on Sunday.

Showing obvious single lap pace, the team will still need to work upon its longevity within each race as both the #7 car and the #8 car of Nicolas Baert fell outside of the top ten within the twenty four strong grid in race one before both cars failed to finish in race two although Magnus did hold his own in race two until his car suffered suspension failure just before the halfway stage.

Within the supporting ADAC GT4 Germany Series, it was again the guesting #4 Eastside Motorsport ream of Storm Gjerdrum and Jan Philipp Springob as well as the two Prosport Racing AMR’s of Marek Bockmann/Anton Abee and Hugo Sasse/Roman Fellner-Feldegg aboard their #17 and #19 cars respectively.

With no crew sadly having any title hopes this season, this weekend was just for ‘experience’ although the #19 crew of Sasse and Fellner-Feldegg did at least manage to round off what has been a very underwhelming season for them with a P3 finish in race two on Sunday. Gjerdrum did also claim a P1 Rookie finish in race one to boost the young drivers ambitions into 2026.
