Verstappen.com going for Gold this weekend in Spain

Wednesday, October 08, 2025
Having placed one hand upon their Gold Class Championship last time out at the Nurburgring only to have it ripped away again after a post-race time penalty was applied to their race finishing time, the Thierry Vermeulen, Chris Lulham and Harry King driven car will obviously be looking to make a final job of it this weekend’s final three hour race amongst the expected record breaking grid of sixty cars.
Despite five other full season AMR Vantage GT3 powered crews also taking part at the event, the #33 2 Seas Motorsport supported entry will be the sole Vantage powered crew with any real championship winning but they will need to be careful as they have just a sixteen-point lead going into this round with twenty-six points being available again.
The Comtoyou Racing team again field three entries with one car across each of the Pro, Silver and Bronze classes. Whilst their #7 Pro entry of Nicki Thiim, Marco Sorensen, Mattia could move up the leaderboard to a more respectable level from their present P8 position with a favourable result in Spain, the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup Silver class champions aboard the #21 car will only be able to look back upon what might have been for drivers Jamie Day, Kobe Pauwels with third man Nicolas Baert.
The teams #270 Bronze entry of Jessica Hawkins, Antoine Potty and Alexandre Leroy have had a torrid season together with accident damage and technical issues sidelining them from much of the season so any points worthy finish for them this time around would put a smile back upon their faces.
The two Walkenhorst Motorsport AMR entries complete the AMR powered entry with the #34 Pro class entry of Christian Krognes, David Pittard and Henrique Chaves having also endured something beyond a ‘challenging’ season whilst their #35 silver class stablemates of Romain Leroux, Oliver Soderstrom and Mateo Villagomez cab at least look back in awe at their overall race win at this season’s Spa 24.
Track action begins this Thursday with private testing before the bronze driver test on Friday and Free Practice, Pre-Qualifying on Saturday and then Qualifying and the final race of the season on Sunday.
