Swiss based R-Motorsport today confirmed another piece of their 2018 Blancpain GT Endurance puzzle by announcing their fifth driver who will compete in one of their Aston Martin Racing V12 Vantage GT3's.

French driver Mathieu Vaxivier (seen above testing for TDS Racing in their LMP2 this week) will join the already announced line up of Jake Dennis, Alex Brundle, Nicki Thiim and Maxime Martin in the teams two pronged attack on Europe's most prestigious GT series.

Vaxiviere brings a good level of sportscar experience from LMP2 and GT3 and will continue to develop this by having the opportunity to compete in the Blancpain series for the first time in his career.

R-Motorsport team principal Florian Kamelger said “Great to have Matthieu in the team. This brings us one more step towards the goal of the perfect driver line-up for this season.”

As reported just after Le Mans, the last few months have seen a number of brand new Aston Martin Racing V12 Vantage GT3's leave the Prodrive factory.

Two have already been exported to their new owners around the world whilst what we believe to be the newest chassis has recently been delivered to the AF Racing squad, the racing division of Swiss based Aston Martin St Gallen.

Seen here in the teams beautiful grey livery with blue details, we assume that this GT3 will see its first track action at the next VLN meeting on the Nordschleife in a few weeks time instead of their trusted V8 Vantage GT4 as well featuring in the Liqui-Moly 12Hours of Bathurst next February.


With the new Vantage GTE expected to hit the test tracks later this year, 2018 will be the swan song year for this iteration of Vantage GT3 before the new shape then hits production.

Despite its age, the Vantage has continued to prove itself still to be a winner!

R-Motorspotrt, the racing division of Swiss based Aston Martin St Gallen have been slowly but surely confirming most of the identities of their two car, six driver line up for February's 12hours of Bathurst.

Already confirmed within the Invitational Class entered Aston Martin Vantage GT8's first racing appearance outside of continental Europe will be the return to the Mountain of St Gallen's and R-Motorsport's co-owner Florian Kamelger who will be racing alongside Bathurst newcomers Markus Lungstrass (a Nordschleife driver coach) and Aston Martin Racing works driver Darren Turner.

Great to see that Aston Martin St Gallen return to 'The Mountain' for the Bathurst 12H in early February 2017 with two Aston Martin race cars.

Now racing under the banner of R-Motorsport, company owner and racer Florian Kamelger confirmed on social media this week that his outfit will be returning to the Liqui-Moly event after a year's sabbatical with not just their new AMR V8 Vantage GT4 but also the Aston Martin Vantage GT8 - the car more akin this year to the VLN Series.

Both cars wil be shipped over to Australia by the end of the month.


Being no strangers to the GT8 having raced it at various stages during the VLN series (including the N24) it will be very interesting to see if any of the available seats have room for certain A Palmer?!!

These two cars join the three Miedecke Stone Motorsport GT3 (x2) and GT4 (x1) that have already been confirmed as entered.

Having had Aston Martin Racing release the opportunity to buy a set of those coveted 'Wings' as displayed on the team's V8 Vantage GTE's in this years World Endurance Championship earlier this week, we stumble across another cracking Christmas gift idea for someone who otherwise has everything.

Long standing Aston Martin business partner and racing team Aston Martin St Gallen have published a 156 page book crammed full of detail and exquisite photos detailing the rise of their dealership, their passion for racing as well as information regarding their involvement in the AM RB-01 project.

Earlier this month Aston Martin Racing quietly announced a new technical partnership with a team called R-Motorsport who will operate as the racing division of Aston Martin St Gallen, the brands leading Swiss dealerships.

That, together with todays announcement that Aston Martin will be entering into an innovation partnership with Red Bull Racing to create the latest hyper car - Project AM-RB 001 there appears to be a link between that project, AML and this new team?


R-Motorsports subsidiary company, AF Racing AG will provide a european wide parts and race car distribution service to other Aston Martin Racing customer and partner teams from its Swiss bases and the team will also be about to support other AMR teams entered into the VLN Championship whilst racing their own V8 Vantage GT4 under the R-Motorsport banner at those events.


Company bosses Andreas Baenziger and Florian Kamelger joined AMR at their winter test last month at Valencia where that team and their prospective clients were able to sample the characteristics of the V12 Vantage GT3 and V8 Vantage GT4 with the help and assistance of the factory engineers being on site as well.

John Gaw, Managing Director of Aston Martin Racing, said: “We are delighted to introduce
R-Motorsport into the Aston Martin Racing family and we look forward to supporting the team in every aspect of its motorsport programme for the future, while providing technical support as and when required”.

Having last seen competitive track action at the Aston Martin Festival at Le Mans back in June, one of the two Aston Martin GT12 'racing' cars will return to the track at the weekend for the VLN 5 ADAC Barbarossapreis meeting.

Resorting back to the #144 number the car originally displayed back in April when it first hit the track the SP8 class car will this time be driven by Aston Martin Nurburgring Test Centre director Wolfgang Schubauer alongside both founding members of the Swiss Aston Martin Customer Team St Gallen and highly talented GT4 drivers Florian Kamelger and Andreas Baenziger.


With qualifying starting at 08:30 local the four hour race itself starts at 12:00Hrs local and should feature some 152 cars.

It will still be interesting where the Gaydon factory go with this platform as it clearly works within this sort of racing environment although Andy Palmer did day at Le Mans that one of the next projects would involve a road going variant of the V8 GTE race car that just might get re-engineered back into a race car!!

We will wait and see ………………………!!
