Hexis Racing
Gaydon, October 19 2009. Official Aston Martin Racing Team – Hexis Racing is heading to Zolder, Belgium for the final round of the FIA GT3 Championship, hoping to win the Team and Driver titles.

The team’s title chances were greatly improved last week after the FIA International Court of Appeal overturned an exclusion imposed at Oschersleben, reinstating six precious points for the DBRS9 driven by Thomas Accary and Julien Rodrigues.

Hexis Racing’s Aston Martin DBRS9s have recorded three victories and three additional podium finishes this season. Following the appeal, the team is back at the top with a 20.5 lead in the Team Championship and a 0.5 point lead in the Driver Championship. With two races of the 12 race season remaining and a maximum of 36 points available there is everything to play for.

Hexis Racing Team Manager Philippe Dumas commented: “We are all very happy and relieved that the FIA reached a fair decision, recognising that a simple clerical error made by the manufacturer when the DBRS9 was first homologated was just a mistake and that no performance advantage was gained. It is to Aston Martin’s credit that they resolved this situation and we are back in the hunt for the Championships.”

David King, Head of Motorsport for Aston Martin added: “I am delighted that we can put this behind us and Hexis can focus their efforts on fighting for the prestigious FIA GT3 title on the track. I wish them the best of luck as they head to Zolder for the final races of the season.”
