Young Driver AMR Silverstone DBR9
Both Young Driver AMR in the Top 10 in Pre-Qualifying

Young Driver AMR had a good start into the first weekend of the GT1 World Championship on European soil in Silverstone. Both Young Driver AMR Aston Martin DBR9 finished in Friday’s pre-qualifying session in the Top 10. Darren Turner (GB) / Tomas Enge (CZ) were fifth fastest in their #7 Aston Martin DBR9, while the #8 sister car of Stefan Mücke (D) / Christoffer Nygaard (DK) turned the ninth quickest lap.

Before the Qualifying and Qualifying Race on Saturday, Young Driver AMR-drivers are optimistic. „The FIA made some changes in the “Balance of Performance“ before this weekend, and this turned out to be very good“, Tomas Enge said. „The entire field is closer now and more competitive then in Abu Dhabi. We are very satisfied with the car, today it was just perfect. Now we have to see what the qualifying and qualifying race will bring.“

„We had some problems in morning, especially with the track which was very dusty and partly wet”, Stefan Mücke said after the pre-qualifying session.” There were certain areas of the track which got new tarmac and the track offered poor grip this morning. But until the afternoon we made some changes to the car. These improvements were the right way, the car was much better in the afternoon session. The car is now very good and I’m very confident for tomorrow’s qualifying.“
