Adam ready to roll at the Rock

Jonny Adam wants history to repeat itself at Rockingham when the 2012 Avon Tyres British GT Championship roars into the motor speedway next weekend (June 9-10) .

The Scotsman and Beechdean team-mate Andrew Howard scored their maiden British GT victory at the Northamptonshire circuit last season, expertly piloting the Aston Martin DBRS9 through heavy rain and leaving the rest of field trailing in their wake to take the chequered flag.

The duo will return to the same venue for the third event of this year's championship behind the wheel of the new V12 Vantage GT3 aiming to replicate the feat - and seeking to build on their first place at the Nurburgring in the previous round to close the gap on the leaders in the championship standings

The Beechdean Motorsport with Aston Martin Racing team tested at Snetterton circuit in Norfolk this week in order to fine tune their preparations for tackling the two hour race at Rockingham, and Adam is quietly confident everything is in place to give them the best possible chance of success.

"We have been ironing out all the little things that we've not had time to work on so far, even down to details like the dashboard setup and layout of the cockpit.

"While they are small changes it all contributes to making us more comfortable in the car and allowing us to extract the maximum performance from both it and ourselves.

"The next few races are very important for us as double points are on offer, and we need to score well to put us back in contention for the title.

"I've always liked racing at Rockingham, it's a great mix of tight, twisty infield then flat out around the oval banking, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how we shape up against the rest of the field there.

"It's mega competitive this season but I think we'll be on the pace at Rockingham whether it's wet or dry."

The Avon Tyres British GT Championship action at Rockingham will see qualifying take place on Saturday June 9, with the two hour feature race starting at 15:25 on Sunday June 10.
