Caterham duo move up to British GT in Vantage GT4

Wednesday, December 17, 2014

This seasons Caterham runners Terry Langley and Mike Hart are today the latest drivers to announce their intention to race in the Avon Tyres sponsored British GT Championship in 2015 with their Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4.

Swapping both their R300 and Supersport Caterham's that each have each raced over the last couple of years or so for this beautiful looking Quantamatic liveried (provisional design) and Team Parker Racing prepared GT4, both drivers are looking forward to the challenges that racing in the UK's premier GT series will present.

Terry Langley from Hinckley, Leicestershire started his racing career back in karts before progressing to Caterham's in 2012 in the Tracksport class where he finished as championship runner up. The following season he moved up to the R300 class where he again finished as championship runner up and again this year where he finished 5th.

Mike Hart, also from Leicestershire started his motorsport career in the Caterham Academy for novice drivers back in 2010. He has progressed his way up the Academy ladder into Roadsport, Tracksport and latterly the Supersport class where he won the championship in 2014. Hart also became a Quantamatic sponsored driver alongside Langley in 2012.

Throughout their car racing careers both drivers have had the support of Hinckley based engineering company Quantamatic to thank, not only for their past endeavours but also for their continued support to allow for their step up into GT racing for 2015.

A high volume small precision part manufacturer, Quantamatic is another company that has identified the benefits in sponsoring motorsport activities and with the proposed live TV stream for 2015 this can only help to improve their return on their commitment.

GT4 testing 2014

This entry is the second Aston Martin GT4 to be announced for the 2015 season (see previous report for Edwards sisters) but it may not be the last with both Beechdean and TF Sport to confirm their GT4 plans for 2015. One thing is for sure - it will be tight at the top come Donington.

We at wish them well for the season.
