Beechdean confirm GT3 entry for British GT

Wednesday, January 28, 2015

Beechdean Motorsports today confirmed their title challenge for the 2015 Avon British GT Championship with AMR factory driver Jonny Adam racing again alongside Andrew Howard.

The 2013 Champion, and team owner Howard commented that "I am very excited to be returning to British GT in what looks to be another great year for the Championship. Last season was a solid year but our aim in 2015 is to fight for the title. I am looking forward to joining Jonny again in what will be our 5th year of driving together, and I look to improve my speed and consistency in 2015. We know the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 very well and to have this continuity is crucial as we want a great start to our Championship attack".

"It’s great to be driving with Andrew again and racing in British GT for 2015. It will be a tough Championship this year but we have a strong Pro Am line up and a great team of engineers at Beechdean and Aston Martin Racing. We look to improve our Aston Martin Vantage GT3 throughout our testing program and understand the new Avon tyre for 2015. We are aiming for success and with the experience we now have of both the car and Championship, 2015 will hopefully be a good one!" said Adam

Despite the series not starting until the Easter Bank Holiday weekend in April and intensive testing programme had been set up to refine the handling and performance of the V12 Vantage GT3.

As a footnote to the Press Release the team also confirmed that they had indeed purchased an Aston Martin V8 Vantage GTE in order to gain a placement at the 24Hrs of Le Mans via the European Le Mans Series in 2016. This car is also due to feature at the AMR Le Mans festival this June.

Confirmation of their ELMS campaign are to follow in due course.

What was not said in this brief however, was anything to do with the second V12 Vantage GT3 that the team were offering nor anything about the V8 Vantage GT4 for which we understand that only one driver has been assigned to so far.

With a lot of social media traffic being put out about a certain Master Baker gaining his race licence however, it may not be too far beyond the bounds of imagination that he is involved somewhere.

We wait and see!!
