Promising results for 22GT Racing in first test session

Monday, March 02, 2015

Friday 27th February 2015 saw 22GT Racing experience the first official test session for their return to British GT after eight years.

With two garages in Silverstone’s iconic National Pit Straight occupied by 22GT’s Aston Martin duo – one GT3 Vantage and one GT4 Vantage, team manager Nathan Harrison said “The cars have run faultlessly all day. We are thrilled to be back competing in this championship once again – even though today is just a test it truly feels like, as a team, we are home.”

Mark Farmer

Ex-Caterham Works driver Mark Farmer and 2008 British GT Champion Jon Barnes will be taking the wheel of the Aston Martin GT3 Vantage this year, with Farmer putting in a notably impressive performance on track – setting a lap time only two seconds off that of Barnes. “I think it probably exceeded expectations for our first shakedown of the car. Mark was really close to my times which was a big surprise and something that we’re really pleased to see so it’s been a pretty productive day” said Jon Barnes.

The second of 22GT Racing’s Aston Martin arsenal, which will be entering selected Britcar and Aston Martin Owners Club events throughout 2015, will be driven by father-son team Mika and Chris Brown. Both consistently performed throughout their first test session as they learned both the track and the car. Chris said “Today felt good, definitely gettingout on such an exciting track reignites the passion for racing. We’re now looking forward to the season ahead more than ever”.

Pre-season testing continues for 22GT Racing at Circuito Monteblanco, Spain on the 7th and 8th March, for warm-weather testing.
