Beechdean AMR Ready to Rock at Rockingham

Wednesday, April 29, 2015

Beechdean AMR are raring to return to the second round of the 2015 British GT championship at Rockingham this weekend (2nd/3rd May), after their solid start to the GT3 and GT4 championship campaigns at Oulton Park, the race which kicked off the season.

2013 British GT champion, Andrew Howard, and Jonny Adam, in the Beechdean GT3 Aston Martin Vantage, are currently positioned third in the championship after their victory at Oulton in race two, and Chadwick and Gunn fourth for GT4, after making the podium in their first year of competing in British GT.

A promising start to the season leaves the Beechdean team hopeful and determined to reach another good result for both GT3 and GT4 cars at Rockingham. As Europe’s fasted banked oval racing circuit, Howard, Adam, Chadwick and Gunn, will use their experience thus far, and their recent determination after their victory at Britcar 24-Hour to push for a top position.

The team recently tested at Rockingham to optimise setup to make sure the tyres are consistent over the course of the two hours, due to the abrasive track surface. This will ensure that both cars can run to their full potential, with the drivers battling for a solid combined qualifying time on Saturday, which will determine the grid for the two hour race on Sunday.

Andrew Howard ‘The season is still in the early stages, but we are confident coming off the back of our victory at Oulton. We have had success in the past at Rockingham and our aim this weekend is to score a top 5 result’.

Jonny Adam ‘We’re looking forward to this weekend, especially after a good result at Britcar. Unfortunately we have to carry 20 seconds extra in our pit stop time due to our victory at Oulton Park, but from testing a few weeks ago at Rockingham we feel we have good consistence pace which will hopefully carry us to a good result.’

Ross Gunn 'After an amazing weekend at Silverstone, we are all certainly on a high moving towards this weekend. We completed a successful test two weeks ago at Rockingham where I managed to learn the track and work on a set up with Jamie. I am hoping that we can fight back in the championship and be on the podium again.'

Jamie Chadwick "I am eager to get round two of our British GT campaign underway at Rockingham. Following our podium success at Oulton Park, and recent win in the Britcar 24-Hour, we are keen to emulate this strong form. Between Ross, the Beechdean team and I, we have been working hard to ensure that we can push for another podium.”
