Change of plan for the Edward sisters in British GT

Thursday, April 30, 2015

British GT Championship driver, Jade Edwards is looking to really kick start her season at Rockingham MotorSpeedway this coming weekend after having a challenging first round at Oulton Park three weeks ago.

"We always knew it would be tough," Jade commented. "Without any pre season testing, it was to be expected we would be on the back foot-but, as a team, we learned as much as possible and now look forward to putting it into action this weekend."

The Stratton Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage GT4 also has a change in driver for this weekend. Chloe, Jade's sister will sit out at Rockingham to enable the Nationwide Driver Supplies-supported driver George White make his British GT debut while bringing a financial boost to the team.

"The start of the year has been a challenge, "Jade explains. "We lost a sponsor just before media day and had to look for alternative ways to bring in funding - I'm sad to see Chloe sit out, but George is a great young driver and I'm looking forward to working with him this weekend."

George, son of 2014 British GT driver Paul White, has previously competed in the Miltek Sport Volkswagen Racing Cup in 2014 before switching to the Lotus On Track Elise Trophy for 2015.

"This is a great opportunity for me," George comments. "Rockingham will see me make my GT debut and I'll have a lot to learn but I feel ready to make the step up."

Also joining the Stratton Motorsport set up this weekend will be experienced British GT driver Tom Onslow-Cole.
Tom, who contested the championship last year, will bring valuable experience and insight into world of GT racing.

Ex-driver and current Stratton Motorsport team manager Jim Edwards comments: "Having Tom with us at Rockingham will enable us to make leaps forward as a team. I am able bring a certain level of experience and advice but Tom brings such valuable knowledge of British GT and endurance strategy. As we have a longer race this weekend, I'm very happy he's working alongside me to maximise our potential."
