Countdown to ELMS at Silverstone

Monday, April 06, 2015

With us Brit's now coming to the end of our Easter Bank Holiday weekend that leaves us just four days before the first track action of the 2015 European Le Mans and World Endurance Series from Silverstone.

Despite the potential of more full season entries over the winter months this year sees just another single Aston Martin entry again in the European Le Mans series, this time with the Danish Massive Motorsport team in their V12 Vantage GTC.

The simply designed and easily identifiable red and white Vantage will be driven by former Young Driver AMR and 2014 GTE Am Champion Kristian Poulsen alongside Caspar Elgaard and Simon Moller.

The Kiloo (computer software company) backed #68 car will be one of 35 cars entered into the opening round of the series (across all four categories) and will be one of seven confirmed entries in that class.

With the introduction of the new Dunlop control tyre at the start of the year the only comparable data that is available comes from the two day official test that took place from Circuit Paul Ricard at the end of March. Even that data is open to interpretation because of the differing set ups being run by the teams but consistency seems to be the order of the day with the team and they should be in a position where the team could easily secure a podium finish.

Class opponents will this year be a BMW Z4 from TDS Racing, three Ferrari 458's from AF Corse and a Lamborghini Gallardo from Gulf Racing.

Following two Free Practice sessions on the Friday and qualifying on the Saturday morning, the four race itself is then scheduled to start later on Saturday afternoon at 14:30Hrs and will be screened live on MotorsTV.
