Beechdean AMR GT4 Car Baking Hot with Paul Hollywood’s GT Cup Class Win

Brands Hatch saw Great British Bake off star, Paul Hollywood, and Aston Martin factory driver, Jonny Adam, win their class in the GT Cup Championship this weekend (9th May) for Beechdean Aston Martin Racing.
Behind the wheel of the Beechdean Aston Martin Vantage GT4, the duo claimed victory in the 50 minute race in the GTA class, proudly finishing 14th overall in a 33-car grid.
After officially announcing his move into the motorsport field with Beechdean AMR in March, Hollywood smashed his first ever race start by keeping consistent time and driving the GT4 car with no difficulty on the renowned Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit.
Paul Hollywood commented: “I am incredibly privileged to have driven the Beechdean Aston Martin GT4 over the weekend with the legendary Jonny Adam. Jonny has been my mentor along with Andrew Howard and what a great result for ALL the team. I'm so proud to be part of it...!”
Hollywood, who passed his race licence test with MSV Trackdays earlier this year, made the right strategy call to pit as soon as the driver window opened after the safety car release, and with a successful pit stop, it meant Adam left the pits in 4th position.

Pushing to the lead in the second half of the race, Jonny Adam, Beechdean AMR’s GT3 driver in this year’s British GT Championship, maintained a good run right up to the chequered flag to bring home another win for Beechdean.

Adam commented: “It’s great to get another victory for our Beechdean Aston Martin GT4 car after recent British GT wins. Paul drove extremely well considering he had limited track time and experience prior to the weekend. For only his second ever race weekend, to win the GTA GT Cup shows the fast progression that Paul is making with his driving. Big thanks to the Beechdean team and Paul Hollywood for an enjoyable weekend.”

With Adam’s invaluable race experience and Hollywood’s fresh talent, Saturday’s success was another fantastic achievement for Beechdean, along with their incredible win at Britcar 24-Hour in April, which will help fuel the desire to conquer more races this season.

Paul Hollywood will be reunited with the Beechdean Aston Martin GT4 on the 13th of June to compete in a supporting race at Le Mans 24-Hour.
