Bitter sweet for Aston Martin at VLN7

Monday, September 07, 2015

Avia Racing came away with the SP10 class honours again on Saturday at VLN7 - the Opel 6H Ruhr Pokal Rennen with another Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4 from MSC Adenau in third some three laps behind.

There was not however any such joy for the Aston Martin Test Centre Vantage GT12 #144 entry of Liam Talbot and businessman Mathias Huttenrauch. Finding themselves half way around the circuit on slicks in torrential rain wasn't the best even with a Porsche sending the car sideways on the opening lap said Talbot. Curtains came to the car at the four hour mark when an unidentified Ferrari used the Castrol liveried GT12 as a brake sending it straight into the armco and retirement.

Judging by Talbot's social media comments he wasn't best pleased with the level of driving standards at the meeting! Next VLN event is on the 3rd October.
