Beechdean AMR Ready to Rock-ingham!

Thursday, April 28, 2016

Reigning British GT Championship winning squad Beechdean AMR is raring to go for the second round of British GT at Europe’s fastest banked oval circuit, Rockingham Motor Speedway this weekend.

The team had a promising start to the GT3 and GT4 championship campaign - after a disrupted first encounter at Brands Hatch - Beechdean AMR will be looking to pounce on the opposition at the Rockingham Motor Speedway. Double British GT champion, Andrew Howard and Aston Martin Racing factory driver Ross Gunn, racing in the Beechdean Aston Martin Vantage V12 GT3, currently lie fifth in the British GT Drivers standings.

Having charged through the GT3 field on route to fifth place at Brands Hatch GP, Andrew Howard stated, “British GT has a really strong GT3 category in 2016 and Rockingham will suit the new cars. It won’t suit the Aston Martin Vantage V12 GT3 but points would be great in our development year.”

Team mate Ross Gunn commented, “Rockingham is probably the most challenging circuit on the British GT calendar, due to its length and abrasive surface. So far the car is performing on the Pirelli tyres, so hopefully we can score some points again.”

Beechdean AMR’s GT4 car, driven by youngsters Jack Bartholomew and Jordan Albert, are also placed fifth in their class championship. After an encouraging first outing for the all silver graded pair, as well as a successful Rockingham preseason test, both drivers are going in feeling comfortable.

“I am looking forward to round two, now I know what to expect from a British GT weekend.” said Bartholomew. Silverstone based Albert commented, “We know we can race at the sharp end, so we are hoping for a positive result.”
