Partner status is more than a title in #TeamAMR

Thursday, April 28, 2016

A simple photo posted on social media confirmed (if proof was ever required) that Aston Martin Racing Partner team status is more than a simple badge but an additional line of support for fellow teams in need.

You may recall that last weekend TF Sport were in Estoril, Portugal at the opening round of the International GT Open when 'amateur' driver Salih Yoluc made a small mistake in Qualifying 1 putting a wheel of his V12 Vantage GT3 off the track and onto the wet grass. That momentary loss of traction on one side sent the car into a devastating spin into the armco that pretty much destroyed the front end of the car (fortunately not injuring Yoluc in the process) and out of both races before they had even begun.

We thought that the team would then trundle all the way home, effect repairs before driving all the way down to Imola for the opening round of the new Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup series next weekend.

What in fact has happened is that TF Sport made a bee-line for AMR's latest Partner Team Solaris Motorsport and their workshop facilities on the east coast of Italy in order to help TF Sport make the required chassis repairs over the last three days.

As a result of not loosing four of five days driving back and forth to base the team have been able to shakedown and test their GT3 at Imola Thursday and Friday of next week in order to be in a better position for next weekend - a simple five hour driver up the coast from the Solaris facilities.

Solaris's own V12 Vantage GT3 will be at Monza this weekend for the opening round of the Italian GT Series - we wish them well.
