Chadwick testing something without a roof!! (Updated)

Friday, April 08, 2016

Reigning British GT GT4 Champion and Aston Martin Racing Evolution Academy finalist Jamie Chadwick has been keeping herself busy by testing (of all things) a Hillspeed BRDC Formula 3 car at a fresh Snetterton circuit in Norfolk today.

Guided by former BRDC F4 and now McLaren GT Academy driver Struan Moore, Chadwick has been reported as being reasonably quick in what must have been her first experiences of a aerodynamically advanced single seater.

Reasons for the test? We're not quite sure but as she isn't due into the second Beechdean Motorsport V8 Vantage GT4 until later in the year when her side kick Paul Hollywood finally becomes available we would speculate that the new F3 series will be keeping her occupied whilst she waits in-between her studies!!
“Other racing is possible and, in complete contrast, I have also been testing a BRDC F3 with Hillspeed and guidance from experienced single-seater racer, Struan Moore [current McLaren GT Academy driver in Blancpain Endurance, ex-BRDC F4 and Japanese F3 driver], This will help broaden my racing outlook and give me some additional ‘aero’ experience. So, all in all, a busy year ahead, but I’m looking forward to the challenge and can’t wait to get going” Jamie has announced on her website.

Commenting on Jamie’s BRDC F3 test, Richard Ollerenshaw, Team Principal of Hillspeed said, “This is Jamie’s first outing in a single-seater and we’ve been hugely impressed. The morning provided damp conditions so we sent her out on wets and things brightened up in the afternoon for some dry running, giving her a well-rounded test. She provided excellent feedback, and improving times throughout the day, as she adapted to the car, and it’s clear she’s more than capable in a single-seater. I think we can assume this won’t be the last time we see Jamie in an open wheel machine”.
