Solaris enjoying their first time out in an AMR

Saturday, April 30, 2016

#TeamAMR newcomers Solaris Motorsport are at Monza this weekend for the first round of the Italian GT Series racing their new, beautifully liveried Aston Martin Racing V12 Vantage GT3 competitively for the first time since swapping chassis marque over the winter.

Despite technical issues that prevented drivers Francesco Sini and Max Mugelli from setting any times in Free Practice 1 things have obviously improved for the team to allow them to finish P10 in Q1 and P5 in Q2 within the two class GT series.

The series run S.GT3 and GT3 classes - all are GT3 spec cars however the S.GT3 class is reserved for newer derivatives of car such as the Ferrari 488 and BMW M6 whilst the GT3 class is the home of older cars such as the Ferrari 458 and BMW Z4.

Race 1 is presently underway - live streaming and timing available at Italian GT
